## Investigating the features of a film review

Today we were introduced to the WAGOLL for our current writing topic which is opinion pieces of writing. After reading the WAGOLL carefully, we looked at a range of different features and had to decide which features were in the text and which features were not. After discussing our findings and giving evidence to support our ideas, we put our features into a diamond 11 shape to order the features from the most important to the least important.

## Dance performances

Over the past few weeks of dance, we have been looking at some different dance moves from different cultures such as Irish dancing, bhangra dancing and Spanish dancing. Today we worked in groups to use the moves we have learnt and create a routine. Out routines had to have different levels to show variation. The performances were fantastic – just look and see for yourself!

## P4C in Year 4

Over the past few weeks, we have been looking at some thought provoking questions in our P4C lessons. These lessons have been based upon discussions and debates about our own and other’s views. In each lesson we have written down our ideas on a piece of flipchart paper. Here is some of the questions that we have looked at over the past term:

## Let’s get making!

Today was an exciting day because we began making our night light frame today. We had to think about the materials we were going to use to make our night light and used different materials to create our designs.

## Getting Technical in DT!

Today in our DT lesson, we began making our nightlight. First we made a switch and then used our switch in our electrical circuit to turn our lightbulb on and off. We worked really hard this lesson and can’t wait to make and decorate the outer part of our nightlight next lesson.

## Recognising the place value of each digit in a four digit number

Today we were able to look at the value of each digit in a four digit number by using place value counters and a place value chart. We had to pick a number card and show this number on the place value chart using the place value counters. We all worked really hard today!
